I shot this bunny and had no idea where it went to.  Brewer tracked and retrieved to hand.  Atta boy!

You bet Brewer hunts bunnies.  He has been in love with them since his first encounter with one at 12 weeks

I finally got the camera developed. Here are a few action shots of  Brewer, in the field. The hunting season in Manitoba is way too short. Next season we look forward to being in the field much more often then the 28 days spent this season.   In total, I took 11 birds over him in the uplands during his first hunting season.  Not counting what I missed, I’ll work on that in the off season.  Next season will leave Manitoba for two planned trips, in Wisconsin and North Dakota.

Brewer really shined in the Manitoba marshes.  He is very much at home in the water.  Add a bird to the mix, and he is something to see.  Brewer made a total of 54 duck/goose retrieves before the age of  7.5 months.  Many of his retrieves came while jump shooting.  Where he learned to wait, until he was sent.  When that happened, he began marking birds.  I can’t wait to get back out again next season!!

To celebrate his turning 7 months old, we went on a jump shooting hunt, on a day in the 20’s.
